welcome
Located in Arlington, Nebraska, J&C Simmentals is a family owned
and operated Simmental cattle business. The herd was originally
registered Angus and in 1972, Jay and Clark purchased six Angus
cows from Wagonhammer Ranches that were AI’d Simmental. The boys
(Jay and Clark) showed a steer and a heifer from that purchase
at the first feeder calf show at AKSARBEN placing Reserve
Champion with both. From there, part of the Angus females were
AI’d Simmental and only the black ones were retained. Today, the
base herd consists of 150 registered Simmental cows and 20 Angus
cows. Over the years, J&C Simmentals have enjoyed success with
progeny including J&C Black Maximizer, J&C Black Minivan, J&C
Bullet and many others. J&C Simmentals focuses on selecting and
breeding for high performance bulls for the commercial
cattleman. Our bulls, along with bulls from partnering Simmental
breeders, are housed at J&C for five months prior to the sale.
The bulls must meet certain performance benchmarks in order to
be sold in the J&C bull sale. We host our annual bull sale every
year on the last Saturday of January in West Point, NE at West
Point Livestock. J&C Simmentals also host an online female sale
in November. While the focus is on high performing bulls, our
females do not fall short while out on pasture. Our females are
bred to raise calves that will add pounds and outperform others
in the feedlot or raise the next great sire. Thank you for
visiting our site and please feel free to stop by any time for a
tour through the herd and some quality cattle discussion!
